THE VINCENT HOUSE
LEED Platinum StatusThe Vincent House, built in 1926, achieved Platinum certification, the highest certification in LEED. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based, market driven program that provides third-party verification of green buildings. It provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
The majority of the gutters on this house direct rainfall to twelve (12) 55-gallon rain barrels. These rain barrels can hold and save a total of 610 gallons of water to use for landscaping purposes. Just as the water sense faucets reduce the water demand inside the house these can reduce the amount of water outside the house.
