THE VINCENT HOUSE

Picture

LEED Platinum Status

The Vincent House, built in 1926, achieved Platinum certification, the highest certification in LEED. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based, market driven program that provides third-party verification of green buildings. It provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.

The majority of the gutters on this house direct rainfall to twelve (12) 55-gallon rain barrels. These rain barrels can hold and save a total of 610 gallons of water to use for landscaping purposes. Just as the water sense faucets reduce the water demand inside the house these can reduce the amount of water outside the house.
Energy-Efficiency Highlights:
  • Airtight building envelope
  • 16 SEER HVAC unit
  • Spray foam insulation
  • Energy efficient windows
  • Energy efficient ceiling fans
  • Energy efficient bath exhaust fans
  • Water Sense Faucets
  • Water Sense Toilets
  • Central Vacuum
  • Rain Barrels
  • LED lighting
  • Permeable drivable grass driveway
  • Closed circuit security camera system
  • Tankless water heater
